Assigning Recipes to Agents

Control which agents have access to which recipes — manage recipe-agent relationships.

Recipes are assigned to agents the same way skills are. Only agents with a recipe assigned can use it.

How to Assign

From the Agent

  1. Go to Settings → Agents
  2. Click on the agent
  3. Open the Recipes tab
  4. Toggle recipes on/off

From the Recipe

  1. Go to Settings → Recipes
  2. Click on the recipe
  3. View which agents have it assigned
  4. Add or remove assignments

Assignment Strategy

When deciding which agents get which recipes, consider:

  • Role match — A "Weekly Sales Report" recipe belongs on a data analyst or reporting agent, not a content writer
  • Skill prerequisites — The agent must also have all the skills referenced in the recipe
  • Scope — Don't overload an agent with dozens of recipes; keep assignments focused

Warning: If a recipe references skills that aren't assigned to the same agent, the agent won't be able to complete those steps. Always check skill assignments when adding recipes.

Active vs Inactive

Recipes have an active/inactive toggle. Inactive recipes:

  • Don't appear in agent recipe lists
  • Can't be used even if previously assigned
  • Are useful for drafts or temporarily disabled workflows

Toggle active status in Settings → Recipes by clicking on the recipe.
